Copyright Infringement, Using Images from Google, $900 Fine

Many people claim that using images without authorization via the Internet is perfect fine, normal and a common practice.  People getting sued for copyright infringement is one in a million.  People never get sued for copyright infringement unless they are a million dollar company.  They will never catch me.  Well, I am here to say all this is FALSE. In fact, one of our clients entered a legal settlement situation and here are scans of the legal papers they received from Getty images for violation of copyright.  The settlement amount is $450 per image,  fortunately there are only two images being used.  So before you start stealing images for your website, it may make sense to purchase them for a few bucks each instead of later on being taken to court for hundreds or thousands.
